I did some further tweakeng and now I guess the boot time should be acceptable for most of us. Long story short now NimbleX 2010 Beta seems to boot on my laptop just as fast as NimbleX 2008.

Heep in mind I have a fairly fast laptop and if you have less than 1.6GHz this will probably be a hog with KDE4 but there is also a plan to include a much lighter GUI that should work pretty nice even on slower machines.

Also now the size of NimbleX is 300MB with KDE4 and a lot more libs but without an office suite and it will probably be 400MB with OpenOffice included. I'm pretty sure I could still keep it in the 200MB boundaries but I don't think it's worth sacrificing practicality for that.

There is not much left to do untill the Beta will be out but I will have to find a whole day for this thing which is not very easy to do this week.
