I bet I'm not the only one that's a big fan of OpenOffice. When I heard OpenOffice 3 Beta was out, the first thing I did was a quick look to see what's new and then, of course, a quick spin on NimbleX. The most important thing that will be in OpenOffice 3 is support for DOCX (The new crappy format made default in Microsoft Office 2007).

Anyways, I packed OpenOffice Beta3 as LZM so that you can use test it in NimbleX 2008 and you can find in in NimbleX 2008 Repository or HERE.

You also have in the NimbleX LZM repository a standard package (122MB) for OpenOffice 2.4 HERE and a much smaller package (86MB) of the same version, with some things removed, HERE.

Beta3 is far from being ready for the public but 2.4 works as it should. If you need it ... get it :)

P.S. Sorry for posting this so late. I uploaded the packages days ago and I had them for a long time but I just didn't have time to post this short text... My BAD!

An improved OOo
Check out the version of 3.0 released by http://go-oo.org/ - they have addressed a lot of the issues with the standard release. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now and am quite happy with it. This is a not a beta release version.
